Public Roadmap — FedEx Shipping for WooCommerce

Public, dated milestones for the FedEx Shipping for WooCommerce plugin by Teamz Lab. Updated as items ship.

Refund pledge: if any milestone here slips by more than 30 days from its committed date, lifetime-tier customers can request a full refund of the lifetime fee. The deposit (founder pre-buyers) is fully refundable any time, no questions.

Wave 1 — Migration Lifeboat — 2026-04-18

✅ Migration Doctor — admin page that takes old SOAP credentials + new REST credentials, runs a stateless dry-run probe against the FedEx sandbox for every API, returns a per-API status matrix (green = will work after migration; red = needs attention).
✅ Staging Mode — toggle in admin. When ON, every FedEx call runs against sandbox AND logs to a debug panel, while the live checkout keeps using the current shipping method. Verify everything works before flipping to production.
✅ Checkout Safety Net — if any FedEx endpoint returns a 5xx error, checkout falls back to a configurable flat rate. Stores never go down because of a FedEx outage.

Wave 2 (partial) — 2026-04-22

✅ Real-time AIV tracking webhook — push-based tracking via FedEx Advanced Integrated Visibility. Order status updates the instant FedEx scans the package. No polling, no rate-limit risk.
✅ Customer-facing Return Tag portal — self-serve return label generation for end customers. No support ticket required.
✅ Paperless ETD orchestrator — automated commercial-invoice + packing-list filing for international orders via Global Trade + Trade Documents Upload APIs.
✅ Freight LTL with full accessorial catalog — Freight LTL rates and BOL creation with liftgate (pickup + delivery), inside delivery, residential, limited-access, appointment, and protect-from-freezing accessorials.
✅ Open Ship batch workflow — combine up to 999 packages from one WooCommerce order into a single FedEx shipment.
✅ Address Validation auto-residential classifier — every checkout address auto-classified as residential or commercial before the rate API call. No surprise residential surcharges.
✅ Hold-at-Location redirect — failed-delivery handler that redirects customers to a nearby FedEx location from their order page.

How this list is maintained

Each milestone has a date. Dates are committed publicly when an item moves from “future” to “planned”.
When a milestone ships, its row moves to Shipped with the actual ship date.
If a milestone slips, the date is updated here AND in the next CHANGELOG release notes. Slips are public; we don’t quietly bump dates.
Refund pledge applies to slips of more than 30 days past the committed date.
