## Feature blocks
### Connect your phone to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor (MCP)

DeviceGPT runs a Model Context Protocol server on your phone. Pair it to Claude Desktop, ChatGPT Desktop or Cursor on your PC with a PIN or QR code, and the assistant can read your real battery, storage, network and permission data — then answer questions about your actual device instead of guessing. Any MCP-over-stdio client works with the same JSON.

### Screen test — dead pixels, stuck pixels, touch

Full-screen colour sweeps to hunt dead and stuck pixels, plus a scratch grid and a multi-touch check that counts how many fingers the screen registers at once. You look at the screen and mark what you see; the phone cannot see its own display. Useful before you buy a used phone, and before you argue with a warranty desk.

### Camera health check

A camera check for the front and rear cameras: it confirms each camera opens, captures a frame and locks focus. It does not grade picture quality, so you look at the result yourself and judge it.

### Is this phone official? BTRC IMEI check (Bangladesh)

On a phone in Bangladesh, or with the app in Bangla, DeviceGPT walks you through BTRC's official-phone check before you buy or sell a handset: dial *#06# to see the IMEI, type it in, and the app checks the digits for typing mistakes, then opens the SMS (KYD to 16002), the *16161# dial code or the NEIR website with the number filled in. The app never reads the IMEI itself and never gives the verdict: the answer comes from BTRC.

### Charge session log and cycle estimate

Logs each charge session and tracks overnight drain. The cycle count shown is an estimate calculated from battery capacity, not a count read from the battery.

### Battery & power monitor

Check battery health, storage, temperature, and performance. See live device power draw in watts, a split by component — screen, mobile network, memory and Wi‑Fi and app screen time — Android gives apps no per-app battery figures, so DeviceGPT does not pretend to. Export data for deeper analysis.

### Mic & camera permission review

See which apps hold microphone, camera and SMS permission, with plain-English notes and suggested actions—no root required. Android does not let one app see another app's live mic or camera use, so DeviceGPT reviews permissions instead of guessing.

### WiFi speed & signal test

Run internet speed and network trust tests. Check download/upload speed, ping and jitter, and whether a Wi-Fi sign-in page is intercepting your connection, in one tap.

### Certified phone report

Generate a signed phone report with a shareable check code. Enter the original price and Ask AI can estimate a resale value from the report. Spot sensor spoofing.

### Ask AI (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity)

Tap Ask AI after any scan to get plain-English fixes. The scan report goes to an assistant only when you tap Ask AI; scan scores and phone model are uploaded to the global leaderboard.

### Home screen widget

A home screen widget shows health score, battery and temperature at a glance. Tap to open the app.

### Privacy & spyware-signal check

Find what could read your keystrokes or screen — enabled keyboards, accessibility services with screen access, apps reading your advertising ID, sideloaded apps — without root. Plain-English results with suggested actions (revoke permissions, uninstall).

### Sensor spoofing detector

See if sensors are being spoofed. Part of the full diagnostics run with no root access.

### Phone diagnostics & health score

One full scan covers battery, storage, RAM, temperature, mic/camera permissions, speed, and privacy. Single health score and clear results.

## FAQ
### Q: How do I run an Android phone health check?

Install DeviceGPT, open it, and run a full scan. You get battery health, temperature, live power draw in watts, storage and RAM context, a mic/camera permission review, network checks, and privacy-style signals—export or Ask AI if you want deeper explanation.

### Q: How do I check my phone health?

Open DeviceGPT and run one full scan. You get a single health-oriented snapshot: battery and temperature, power draw, storage and RAM, mic/camera permissions, network speed, and privacy-style signals—explained in plain language, with optional Ask AI for next steps.

### Q: Is there a Samsung phone health check app?

Samsung phones include Device care and battery sections in settings, but they are brand-specific and split across screens. DeviceGPT is a third-party phone health check app that works across Android brands (including Samsung) and adds mic and camera tests, speed tests, a security audit, and a unified score in one scan.

### Q: How to check battery health on Android?

Open DeviceGPT and run a scan. You will see battery health status, temperature, live power draw in watts and charging behaviour, with export and Ask AI if you want to dig deeper.

### Q: What is the Android battery health check code?

Many Android phones open a hidden testing menu with battery information when you dial *#*#4636#*#* in the phone app, and many Samsung phones answer *#0228# with a battery status screen. The codes are not on every phone or carrier, and they show one raw reading with no history. DeviceGPT shows the same battery health status plus temperature, live power in watts and a charge log without any code, and without root.

### Q: How do I check if a phone is official in Bangladesh (BTRC IMEI check)?

Dial *#06# to see the 15-digit IMEI, then ask BTRC: send the SMS "KYD <IMEI>" to 16002, dial *16161#, or look the number up on neir.btrc.gov.bd. On a phone in Bangladesh, or with the app language set to Bangla, DeviceGPT shows an "Is this phone official?" card that checks the typed IMEI for mistakes and opens the SMS, the dial code or the NEIR site for you with the number filled in. The verdict is BTRC's, not the app's. In Bangla: ফোন অফিসিয়াল কিনা — IMEI check.

### Q: What apps are draining my battery?

Android hands no app a per-app battery figure, so any app that shows exact per-app battery numbers is estimating. DeviceGPT shows live device power draw in watts and a split by component — screen, mobile network, memory and Wi-Fi, and ranks apps by screen time—which is usually where the drain comes from. For the system’s own per-app estimate, open Settings > Battery.

### Q: How to see which apps used my microphone or camera?

Android does not let one app see another app’s mic or camera use. On recent Android versions the system Privacy dashboard in Settings shows that history. DeviceGPT does the part an app can do honestly: it lists which apps hold microphone, camera and SMS permission, explains them in plain English, and suggests which to revoke.

### Q: How to detect spyware on Android without root?

DeviceGPT’s Zero Trust Dashboard works without root. It lists the mechanisms spyware needs—enabled any keyboard or accessibility service able to see what you type or what is on screen, apps with access to your advertising ID, apps granted microphone, camera or SMS permission, sideloaded apps—and explains each in plain English with suggested actions.

### Q: How to check phone temperature on Android?

Run a DeviceGPT scan to see current phone temperature along with battery health and power draw. Ask AI can then explain whether the heat looks like heavy use, charging, or something worth checking.

### Q: How to measure power consumption in watts on Android?

DeviceGPT’s power monitor shows live device power draw in watts, calculated from the battery’s voltage and current, with a split by component — screen, mobile network, memory and Wi-Fi and exportable data for analysis.

### Q: How to run a phone diagnostics test on Android?

Open DeviceGPT and start a full scan. The app runs diagnostics on battery, storage, sensors, network, and privacy, then generates a certified phone report you can share or send to AI assistants for explanations.

### Q: How to test WiFi speed on Android?

DeviceGPT includes an internet speed test—download, upload, ping and jitter—plus network details and a check for Wi-Fi sign-in pages (captive portals), all in one place.

### Q: Does a phone health checker work offline?

Yes. Most of DeviceGPT's features work offline, including battery health, storage, temperature, and many privacy checks. The speed test needs a connection, and scan scores with your phone model are uploaded to the global leaderboard when you are online; the full report goes to an AI assistant only if you tap Ask AI.

### Q: Do I need root access for a device monitor app?

No. DeviceGPT works without root. You get battery monitoring, power draw, mic and camera tests, the permission review, privacy scanning, and network tests—all without root access.

### Q: How do I compare my phone with others?

DeviceGPT's leaderboard lets you see how your device ranks globally by category (e.g. battery, privacy, performance). Scan scores and your phone model are uploaded automatically after a scan; sign-in is anonymous by default, and linking a Google account is optional.

### Q: Can someone verify my phone report?

Yes. DeviceGPT generates a verified report with a shareable code. The report is signed with an ECDSA key held in the phone’s hardware keystore, and the code lets anyone check it against the stored record, so an edited copy shows as tampered. Use it for resale, support, or to prove device condition.

### Q: How is DeviceGPT different from Android battery settings?

Settings show basic battery percentage and sometimes a simple app list. DeviceGPT adds health-oriented context: health status, temperature, power in watts, a component breakdown, a charge-cycle estimate, mic and camera tests, a security audit, speed tests, and a single health score—plus optional AI explanations if you want plain-English next steps.

### Q: Does DeviceGPT detect keyloggers, hidden apps, or malware?

It looks for what a keylogger needs rather than a list of names. The Zero Trust Dashboard lists enabled any keyboard or accessibility service able to see what you type or what is on screen, apps with access to your advertising ID, apps granted microphone, camera or SMS permission, and sideloaded apps. Results are scored 0 to 100 so you know how serious the findings are. It is not antivirus and does not claim malware removal.

### Q: What is the Zero Trust Dashboard?

It is a three-section security audit in DeviceGPT. App Privacy Risk (35%) covers any keyboard or accessibility service able to see what you type or what is on screen, advertising-ID access, mic/camera/SMS permissions and sideloaded apps. Network Trust (35%) covers DNS manipulation, SSL hijack, transparent proxies and private DNS. Device Integrity (30%) covers root, sideloading, developer mode, USB debugging and overlay permissions. You get a composite score out of 100 with clear actions for each finding.

### Q: Can DeviceGPT detect if my network is being intercepted?

Partly, and it says which part. The Network Trust section checks for DNS manipulation, SSL certificate hijacking (man-in-the-middle attacks), transparent proxies, a redirected connectivity test (usually a Wi-Fi sign-in page), and whether you are using private DNS. It is a practical network privacy audit built into the same scan.

### Q: Does DeviceGPT monitor FPS and frame drops?

Yes. DeviceGPT monitors real-time FPS via the Choreographer API and detects frame drops. This is useful for gamers testing device performance or developers profiling hardware under load.

### Q: Does Android have a built-in phone health app?

There is no single “phone health” app on every Android phone. OEMs show fragments in settings. DeviceGPT is an Android phone health check and diagnostic app that unifies battery health, performance, mic and camera tests, network tests, and privacy-style signals in one scan.

### Q: Is my phone hacked? How can I check?

No app can give you a yes-or-no answer. DeviceGPT lists the risk signals instead: keyboards and accessibility services that could read your keystrokes or screen, apps holding mic, camera and SMS permission, sideloaded apps, and sensor spoofing. It is not antivirus and gives no verdict; it shows the signals so you can decide what to revoke or uninstall. No root required.

### Q: How do I check battery health on Android without root?

Open DeviceGPT and run a scan. The battery view shows health status, temperature, power in watts, charging behaviour and an estimated charge-cycle count. Many Android phones still have no battery health screen in Settings, so a battery health app like DeviceGPT fills that gap—no root needed.

### Q: Can DeviceGPT check my phone condition for resale?

Yes. DeviceGPT generates a signed phone report with a phone condition check. Enter the original price and Ask AI can estimate a resale value from it. The report covers battery health, hardware test results, storage, and diagnostics—everything a buyer or support agent needs. You get a shareable code and verified report.

### Q: Does Android have a health app like iPhone?

Not in the same way. iPhones ship with Apple Health as one place for wellness data; Android spreads similar ideas across OEM settings (Samsung Device care, Google Pixel battery, etc.) and Google Fit is optional—not a single “phone health” hub on every device. A third-party app like DeviceGPT is for when you want one scan that covers battery, thermals, diagnostics, mic/camera access, network checks, and privacy-style signals together.

### Q: Can you run a diagnostic on my phone?

You can use a diagnostics app—DeviceGPT runs a full scan (battery, storage, RAM, temperature, mic/camera permissions, network, privacy-style signals) and produces a readable report. It uses standard Android APIs and does not require root; results are for your own insight and support, not a manufacturer warranty test.

### Q: What is the best battery health app for Android?

Look for clear battery health and temperature readouts, honest power numbers (Android gives apps no per-app battery figures, so be wary of apps that claim exact per-app figures), and clear privacy practices. DeviceGPT combines battery health on Android with broader diagnostics and optional Ask AI so you are not guessing from a percentage alone.

### Q: Is there a Reddit community for phone health and DeviceGPT?

Yes — <a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/PhoneHealthCheck/" rel="noopener" target="_blank">r/PhoneHealthCheck</a> is the community for Android phone health, battery diagnostics, phone security, and DeviceGPT discussion. Post your scan screenshots, compare battery health across devices (Samsung, Pixel, OnePlus, Xiaomi), ask the mods for help interpreting a hardware test result, and read tutorials for manual phone health checks. Open to everyone — DeviceGPT users and people who just want to learn how to keep their phone healthy.

### Q: Where can I share my DeviceGPT phone health report or ask questions?

Share scan screenshots and ask questions on <a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/PhoneHealthCheck/" rel="noopener" target="_blank">r/PhoneHealthCheck</a>. Useful for: getting a second opinion on a low battery health number, comparing phone hardware test results across the same model, asking whether a flagged mic/camera permission is normal, and getting plain-English help interpreting the security audit results. Mods include the DeviceGPT team and experienced Android users.

### Q: What is a phone device assessment?

A phone device assessment is a structured check of the physical and software health of a phone — battery health and temperature, storage and RAM, sensor integrity, mic and camera tests, network reachability, and privacy signals — collected into one readable report. Carrier stores and buyback services do a paid version at the counter; DeviceGPT runs the same categories of checks on-device for free and produces a certified device assessment report, no root and no store visit needed.

### Q: How do I run a device assessment on my Android phone without going to a store?

Install DeviceGPT, open it, and tap Scan. One full run covers the standard device assessment checklist: battery health, thermal state, storage and RAM, WiFi speed, sensor spoofing, and privacy signals (any keyboard or accessibility service able to see the screen, sideloaded apps, mic/camera/SMS permissions); the screen and camera tests sit one tap away. You get a single health score, a certified device assessment report with a shareable code, and — if you want — an Ask AI button that sends the report to ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, or Perplexity for a plain-English explanation.

### Q: Is there a device report website, or do I need to install an app?

DeviceGPT is a phone app, not a website — there is no browser or desktop version. That is deliberate: a website cannot read battery health, thermal state, sensor integrity, or app permissions, because a browser is not allowed near those Android APIs. Any “device report website” that claims to check your battery health from a web page is reading your user-agent string and guessing. The part you can share on the web is the output: after a scan, the certified report carries a shareable code and an ECDSA signature with tamper detection, so what reaches a buyer or a support agent is a tamper-evident record rather than a screenshot that could have been edited. You run the scan on the phone; the report travels anywhere.

### Q: Can I use a device assessment report for phone resale or trade-in?

Yes — the certified DeviceGPT device assessment report is designed for this. Buyers and support agents care about the same things: battery health, screen and multi-touch results, sensor integrity, storage condition, and whether the device has been rooted. The shareable report code lets a buyer verify the numbers themselves rather than trusting a seller screenshot.

## Phone health check — why DeviceGPT is different

Most **phone health check** apps show raw numbers. DeviceGPT runs rule-based checks and adds optional AI explanations of what the numbers mean. One scan covers **battery health**, storage, temperature, sensors, network, and privacy-style signals—then **Ask AI** turns the results into plain-English next steps via ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, or Perplexity. **No account needed.** Most of the experience **works offline**.

**Battery health.** See real **battery health** data that many Android phones do not show by default: health status, temperature, live power in watts, and charging behavior. Then tap **Ask AI** and get “battery is overheating — close background apps”—not just a percentage.

**Privacy and security.** See which apps hold **mic and camera permission**, which keyboards and accessibility services could read your screen, and suggested actions (like tightening permissions)—**no root**. **Sensor spoofing** checks are part of the same **phone security check**. DeviceGPT does not detect spyware by name; it lists the signals and permissions spyware would need, so you can act on them.

**Network and daily use.** Run **speed and signal** checks in one flow, then keep a **home screen widget** for health score, battery and temperature—tap through to the app when something looks off.

---

## Battery health on Android: what DeviceGPT shows you

Many Android phones still have no **battery health** screen in Settings, and where one exists it is often a single status line. That leaves users searching for a **battery health app** that can show health, degradation signals and what is pulling power. DeviceGPT fills that gap, with an optional AI explanation of what the numbers mean.

The battery view shows temperature, health status, live power draw in watts, a component breakdown, charging behaviour and an estimated charge-cycle count. Android keeps per-app battery figures away from apps, so the app list ranks screen time, and says so. You get a clear picture of whether your battery is degrading or just being pulled by heavy apps. Export to CSV or tap **Ask AI** for a plain-English explanation. Apps like AccuBattery or Battery Guru show the data; DeviceGPT adds a plain-English explanation when you ask for one.

If you have been searching for **battery health android**, **check phone battery health**, or the **best battery app for Android**, DeviceGPT covers it alongside storage, RAM, privacy, and network in one scan—not a single-purpose tool.

---

## Mic test, charging check, and WiFi speed test in one place

**Mic test.** DeviceGPT includes a **mic test** that records a short input sample, measures level and noise floor, and plays it back instantly. Pair it with the **permission review** to see which apps are allowed to use the microphone. The recording never leaves your phone.

**Charging check.** Plug in your charger and the battery view shows the charging power in watts, the charger type (AC, USB or wireless) and an estimate of time to full, and each charge session is logged. Useful when your phone "charges slowly" and you want a number rather than a feeling.

**WiFi speed test.** Download, upload, ping and jitter — built into the diagnostic flow. No separate Speedtest app needed; **WiFi speed test on Android** is right next to your battery health readout.

All three sit alongside the **phone hardware test** (multi-touch, screen colours, cameras) and the battery view in a single app — no juggling separate utility apps.

---

## Android diagnostics and phone hardware test

DeviceGPT is built as an **Android diagnostics** tool: battery, storage, RAM, temperature, mic/camera permissions, connectivity, and privacy-oriented checks in a **single pass**. You get one **phone health score** and a **certified-style report** you can share or hand to an AI for explanation.

The **phone hardware test** covers a multi-touch check, dead and stuck pixels, the microphone and a camera open-and-focus check, plus sensor information and spoofing checks—run them in one diagnostic flow instead of downloading separate tester apps. DeviceGPT combines what a **device info app** shows (specs, system info, build details) with what a **phone diagnostic app** tests (does the hardware actually work?). All of it uses **standard Android APIs**—**no root**.

---

## Security scan: is your phone hacked, tracked, or compromised?

DeviceGPT includes a **full security scan** (called the Zero Trust Dashboard) that scores your device 0–100 across three areas:

- **App Privacy Risk (35%):** any keyboard or accessibility service able to see what you type or what is on screen, apps with access to your advertising ID, apps granted microphone, camera or SMS permission, and sideloaded apps.
- **Network Trust (35%):** tampered DNS answers, a hijacked SSL certificate (MITM), a transparent proxy, a redirected connectivity test (usually a Wi-Fi sign-in page), and private DNS.
- **Device Integrity (30%):** overlay permissions, notification listeners, unknown sources (sideloading), root status, developer mode, USB debugging, and storage encryption.

It looks for **mechanisms, not names**: an app cannot read your keystrokes without being an enabled keyboard or an accessibility service, and cannot scrape your screen without screen access, so those are what it lists. Android does not let one app see another app's live mic or camera use, so DeviceGPT shows which apps hold that permission rather than pretending to a timeline. If you have ever searched **”is my phone hacked”**, the Zero Trust Dashboard gives you a scored list of risk signals to review—not a verdict on whether you were hacked. **Sensor spoofing** detection is included in the same run.

DeviceGPT is not antivirus—no app can guarantee “spyware removal.” It is a **phone security check** that shows you the **signals** and **permissions** so you can make informed decisions, without root.

---

## Phone condition check and resale value

DeviceGPT generates a **certified phone report** with a **phone condition check**. For a **phone resale value**, enter the original price and Ask AI estimates a figure from the report. Use it when selling your device, filing a support ticket, or proving device condition to a buyer. The report covers battery condition, hardware test results, storage, and diagnostics—everything a buyer or support agent needs.

**Verified reports** include a **shareable code** and deep device insight. Scan scores and your phone model are uploaded to a **global leaderboard** (anonymous sign-in by default), where you can compare your device by areas like battery, privacy, and performance. The **device certificate** reinforces trust when someone else needs to believe the snapshot.

## Device assessment on Android — the full checklist, run on your own phone

A **device assessment** is the structured check a carrier store, buyback service, or IT desk runs before they will quote you a price or accept a handset: is the battery worn, does the hardware still respond, has the software been tampered with, and can any of it be proven. DeviceGPT runs the same categories on-device, in one scan, with **no root** and no counter visit.

What one **device assessment** run covers:

- **Battery and thermal.** Battery health status, temperature, power draw in watts, an estimated charge-cycle count, and charging behaviour — the number that moves a trade-in quote more than anything else on the list.
- **Storage, RAM, and load.** Capacity and pressure alongside real-time **FPS and frame-drop** monitoring, so "it feels slow" becomes a measurement instead of an opinion.
- **Hardware response.** Multi-touch, screen colours, microphone and a camera open-and-focus check in the same app — the part most assessment apps skip because it needs actual interaction, not a spec readout.
- **Sensor integrity.** Sensor-spoofing detection, so a report cannot quietly be run on a device that is lying about where or what it is.
- **Software integrity.** Root status, sideloading, developer mode, and USB debugging — the Device Integrity third of the Zero Trust Dashboard, and the section a buyer or an IT admin reads first.
- **Privacy exposure.** Which apps hold mic, camera and SMS permission, which keyboard or accessibility service is able to see what you type or what is on screen, and network checks for DNS manipulation, SSL hijack and transparent proxies.

The output is a single **health score** plus a **certified device assessment report** with a shareable code. The certificates are **signed with an ECDSA key held in the phone's hardware keystore and checked against the stored record, with tamper detection** — the difference between a screenshot a seller can edit and a number a buyer can independently check. That verification is why the report is worth attaching to a resale listing or a support ticket rather than describing the condition in words.

**Where a store assessment still wins:** physical inspection. No app can see a hairline frame crack, a lifted screen edge, or water-indicator staining. Run the DeviceGPT assessment for everything measurable in software, and expect a buyer to look at the chassis themselves for the rest.

If you want the assessment explained rather than just delivered, **Ask AI** sends the finished report to ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, or Perplexity and returns a plain-English read of which findings actually matter. The full report goes to an assistant only when you tap that button.

---

## Ask AI, Wi‑Fi, and widgets

**Ask AI:** once a scan finishes, Ask AI hands it to any of nine assistants — **ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, DeepSeek, Grok, Copilot, Replika or You.com** — for an instant plain-English read—**9 AI platforms**. “Cool the phone down,” “which mic permissions should I revoke?”, “what should I uninstall first?”—real advice, not raw data. Each tab generates a context-aware prompt so the AI understands your specific scan results. The report is shared only when you tap Ask AI; scan scores and phone model are uploaded to the leaderboard separately. **DeviceGPT Premium** removes ads and supports ongoing development.

**Speed and signal:** download and upload, ping and jitter, and practical reachability checks—including situations like captive portals. A built-in **wifi speed test** alongside your diagnostics.

**Widgets:** glanceable health stats on supported devices; open straight into the health experience. A **home screen widget** shows health score, battery and temperature at a glance.

---

## More under the hood: FPS, sleep tracking, achievements, and 19 languages

DeviceGPT goes deeper than most **phone health check** apps:

- **FPS and frame drop monitoring** — see how smoothly your phone renders in real time. Useful for gamers and developers testing device performance under load. Works as a lightweight **phone benchmark** alongside your health check.
- **Sleep and wake tracking** — tracks when the device sleeps and wakes, and how much battery drained overnight. This is the phone's sleep, not yours.
- **Power achievements** — milestones and research badges. Unlock Camera Researcher, Display Researcher, CPU Researcher, Network Researcher and Power Research Master by running the component power experiments.
- **Component power experiments** — test camera, display, CPU, and network power draw individually with real measurements. Export battery data as CSV for research or sharing.
- **10 leaderboard categories** — not just battery and performance: speed, thermal, display, camera and CPU among them. Compare your device globally.
- **Tamper-evident reports** — device certificates are signed with an ECDSA key held in the phone's hardware keystore, and a verification code checks a report against its stored record, so an edited report shows as tampered.
- **19 languages** — English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Dutch, Polish, Turkish, Arabic, Hindi, Bengali, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Japanese, Chinese, Korean and Thai.

## What to look for in a phone health app

If you are comparing **phone health check** or **device health check** apps, a few practical checks matter more than marketing claims:

- **Battery depth:** Does it show real battery data—health status, temperature, watts—not only a percentage? Be wary of per-app battery numbers: Android does not report them to apps.
- **Scope:** Does it cover what you care about (battery, **mic and camera permissions**, **Wi‑Fi** speed, storage/RAM, **phone hardware test**) in one flow or only one slice?
- **Privacy:** Is it clear what stays on-device versus what is uploaded? Avoid apps that obscure data handling.
- **Root:** Legitimate broad diagnostics should not require **root** for mainstream features.
- **Honesty:** No app can guarantee “spyware removal” like antivirus on desktop; prefer tools that describe **signals** and **permissions** you can act on.
- **Resale and condition:** Does it generate a **phone condition check** or **phone resale value** report you can share?

DeviceGPT is built around that bar: one **Android diagnostics** scan with battery checks, **phone hardware test**, a spyware-signal check, and **Ask AI**—**mostly offline**, no root.

## Is this phone official? The BTRC IMEI check, for Bangladesh

In Bangladesh the first question before buying a used or boxed phone is not the battery. It is whether the handset is **official**: registered with BTRC's NEIR database, so it keeps working on local networks. People search this in English letters far more than in Bangla (**btrc imei check**, **imei check bd**, **official phone check**), and the check itself is BTRC's, not any app's.

How the check works, with or without DeviceGPT:

1. Dial `*#06#`. The phone shows its 15-digit IMEI (two on a dual-SIM phone).
2. Ask BTRC one of three ways: SMS `KYD <IMEI>` to **16002**, dial `*16161#`, or look the number up on **neir.btrc.gov.bd**.
3. Read BTRC's reply. That reply is the verdict.

What DeviceGPT adds, on a phone in Bangladesh or with the app language set to Bangla: an **Is this phone official?** card on the Health and Device Info screens. You type the IMEI (digits typed on a Bangla keyboard are accepted), the app tidies spaces and dashes and runs the check-digit test so a typing mistake is caught before you send the SMS, then it opens the SMS app, the dialer or the NEIR site with the number already filled in. You press send or call.

What it does not do, on purpose: it never reads the IMEI from the phone (Android does not allow an ordinary app to), it never stores or uploads the number, and it never says a phone is official. A number that passes the check-digit test is only well-formed. BTRC answers the real question.

In Bangla, the question people type is **ফোন অফিসিয়াল কিনা** or **অফিসিয়াল ফোন চেক**. The card is in Bangla when the app is.

## Who built DeviceGPT

DeviceGPT is built and maintained by [Teamz Lab](/), a small UK software team. The same team ships [No Trace Chat](/no-trace-chat/) (disappearing-message chat), [Phosphor](/notetube-ai/), [Top3Picks](/top3picks/), [Toss](/toss/), and [Rocket Landing: Moon Lander](/chopstick-landing-games/) — plus [Teamz Lab Tools](/teamz-lab-tools/), a free browser tool hub. Shipped work is on [our portfolio](/portfolio/); the people behind it are on [the team page](/team/).

If a feature you need is missing, the changelog above is the honest record of what has actually shipped.

We also build under contract. If you need a diagnostics, monitoring, or on-device AI feature in your own app, we take client work through [our Upwork agency profile](https://www.upwork.com/agencies/1904602719490921565/) — milestone escrow, so money moves only when you approve the deliverable. [Adding AI to an existing app](/add-ai-to-my-app/) and [building an app from scratch](/hire-app-developer-for-startup/) are the two usual starting points.

**Bottom line:** If you want a **phone health check app** that ties battery, thermals, power, privacy, diagnostics, and network into one readable flow—with plain-English AI explanations when **you** turn them on—install **DeviceGPT** and run your first scan in under a minute.
